I got a phone call from my old friend, colleague and boss Marc Sotkin – “check your email.” That’s when I saw Kevin Bapp’s ‘Super Golden Friends’ and I thought it was hysterical. And that’s when Los Angeles, Colorado and New York Skype collaborations began on “The Improbables” a brainchild of both Marc’s and Kevin’s.
Marc jumped on casting and I was thrilled when Jim Vallely signed on for Time Piece. Jim is one of the most impactful TV comedy writers around, invaluable on The Golden Girls, Larroquette, Action and a major voice on multiple Emmy winning Arrested Development. But Jim had also come through the gladiator school of stand up comics with his partner Johnathan Schmock as “The Funny Boys.” How good were they? The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson good. ‘Nuff said.
